Description
V Bar Tricep Pushdown Attachment for a Secure, Confident Grip.
The V-shaped grip positions your hands for tricep pushdowns. Its standout feature is the solid stop at each end of the handle. Position your hands correctly to begin. Those ends give you a push against the grip as weight increases, helping control your movement.
It sounds like a small detail, but it makes a big difference to how secure the attachment feels. Especially when you start going heavier.
For beginners, it’s incredibly easy to use. Clip it onto a standard cable machine, find a comfortable hand position and get to work. For more experienced lifters, that planted feeling makes it a really nice option when you want to load your triceps without feeling like your grip is moving around.

Is a V bar good for tricep pushdowns?
Yes. A V bar is a great option for tricep pushdowns, particularly if you like a fixed grip and want your hands to feel secure throughout the movement.
What we particularly like about this Phoenix Fitness version is the stop at each end of the handle. When you press the weight down, your hands meet a solid surface to brace against. This stops them from slowly sliding toward the ends.
That can make heavier sets feel much more controlled and confident.
Will this V bar fit my cable machine?
The V bar has a universal eyelet designed for standard carabiner-style cable machines, so it should work with the vast majority of home, independent and commercial gym cable setups.
Simply unclip your existing attachment and connect the V bar using the machine’s carabiner.
If your machine uses a specialist or non-standard connection, it’s worth checking the connector before ordering.
The View of Abbie & Liam
We really like this one. When you’re doing a lighter pushdown you probably won’t think much about this. Start adding weight and suddenly they make complete sense.
Your hands stay properly positioned with a solid base. You have something to push against. Worries about gripping slipping to the edge are unnecessary. It just feels really solid.
