Description
A Beginner-Friendly Finger Extensor Trainer for Strength Training, Climbing, Grip Balance and Light Hand Strength
The YY Vertical Alien Green is the easiest resistance option in the Alien range, making it the best starting point if you are new to grip training, climbing warm-ups or finger extensor work. Most people think grip training is all about squeezing harder. That is where standard hand grippers come in. The Alien works differently. Instead of closing the hand, you place your fingers into the holes and open your hand against resistance.
This helps train the finger extensor muscles, which are often missed in climbing, lifting and general strength training. If you are looking for beginner climbing finger bands, a light resistance grip trainer or a simple way to balance your hand training, the Green Alien is the one to start with. It is small, lightweight and easy to keep in your gym bag, climbing bag or desk drawer.
Which YY Vertical Alien is best for beginners?
The Green Alien is the best choice for beginners because it has the lightest resistance. It is ideal if you are new to finger extension training, want a gentle climbing warm-up tool or need a simple way to start building better hand balance.
Is this the same as a normal hand gripper?
No. A normal hand gripper trains you to squeeze. The YY Vertical Alien trains the opposite movement by making you open your fingers against resistance. This makes it useful for balancing the hand and forearm muscles, especially if you already do a lot of gripping.
Why Buds Fitness Selected This Product
We selected the YY Vertical Alien Grip Range because grip training should not feel intimidating for beginners. It is simple, affordable and easy to use. Grip matters in strength sports, climbing and everyday life, but most people only train the muscles that close the hand. This helps people start training the other side of grip in a manageable way.
It may also be useful for people who want light hand activation or gentle post-op style hand movement, although anyone recovering from injury or surgery should always follow advice from their physio or medical professional.
How to use a YY Vertical Alien.
The easiest way to describe how to use is the refer to it as an alien and refer to it’s arms, legs and head. The head of the alien is for your thumb, the arms and legs are designed for your four fingers.
- Start by placing the alien tummy up (with the branding facing up).
- Stretch the head to your thumb before one at a time working from your index finger to your index finger, place the band around your fingers.
- This will leave your hand in a claw like position, you will then attempt to stretch your hand out fully.
- Just like resistance bands, it is down to your strength to control the time under tension.
