Description
This Resistance Band Is No Longer Available
We no longer stock the Smug Individual Resistance Band and, unfortunately, we won’t be getting any more. There’s nothing wrong with the band itself. We simply can’t get reliable access to the stock anymore, and we’d rather tell you that than leave you wondering when another one might appear.
If you’ve landed here looking for a resistance band for pull-ups, home workouts, stretching or strength training, we do have an option I’d recommend instead.

Looking for a resistance band?
Our Phoenix Fitness Set of 5 Resistance Bands gives you five different resistance levels, ranging from 2kg right through to 56kg. For most people, especially beginners, I actually prefer having several resistance levels available rather than buying one band.
It means you can use a lighter band for mobility and warm-ups, move to heavier resistance for strength exercises, and choose the amount of assistance you need when working towards pull-ups. The set also includes a storage bag, door anchor, hand grips and workout guide, so you’ve got far more ways to use them at home.

What was the Smug Resistance Band good for?
Not just Smug Resistance Band, but resistance bands are simple latex Resistance Bands designed for strength work, stretching and assisted exercises. It was particularly useful for:
- Assisted pull-ups
- Stretching and mobility
- Home strength workouts
- Warm-ups
- Adding resistance to body-weight exercises
The View of Liam at Buds Fitness
I liked these bands because they were simple. If somebody knew exactly which resistance they needed and only wanted one band, they did the job perfectly well but if you’re buying your first resistance bands, I wouldn’t worry about trying to hunt down the discontinued Smug version, I’d spend a little more and get the set of five.
Having different resistance levels gives you much more room to experiment and progress. You aren’t stuck trying to make one band work for every exercise, and you’ve got lighter and heavier options as your training changes.
That’s particularly useful if you’re a beginner and you’re not completely sure which resistance you actually need yet.
