Comfortable Dumbbell Pairs for Home Workouts
These Myga neoprene dumbbells make adding resistance to your home workouts simple. Each option is supplied as a matching pair, so choosing the 3kg variation means you receive two 3kg dumbbells, with a combined weight of 6kg.
Inside each dumbbell is a solid cast-iron core, while the soft neoprene coating provides a comfortable, sweat-resistant grip. The hexagonal shape also stops the weights rolling away when you place them on the floor. They are suitable for strength workouts, Pilates, circuit training, walking exercises and adding extra resistance to everyday movement.
Are Neoprene Dumbbells Suitable for Beginners?
Yes. The clear weight markings, comfortable coating and anti-roll shape make them particularly approachable for someone buying their first set. Because they are available in several weights, you can select a pair that matches your current ability rather than starting with something too heavy.
Which Weight Should I Choose?
Your ideal weight depends on the exercise, your current strength and how many repetitions you plan to complete.
- 1kg pair: Light movement, Pilates and higher-repetition workouts
- 2kg pair: Beginners adding resistance to home workouts
- 3kg pair: General fitness and full-body exercise
- 4kg pair: Building confidence with strength training
- 5kg pair: More challenging presses, rows and lower-body exercises
- 8kg pair: Heavier home strength workouts
It is completely normal to need different weights for different exercises. You may use a lighter pair for shoulder movements and a heavier pair for squats or rows.
What is the difference between these dumbbells and others?
Choosing between neoprene, hex, rounded, adjustable and loadable dumbbells can feel confusing when you are starting out. Our beginner-friendly guide explains what each style is designed for, what the main differences are and which option may suit your space, training and budget.

Coach Liam’s Honest Take
My honest advice is not to automatically choose the lightest option. Think about the exercises you want to do and choose a pair that feels manageable while still offering some challenge toward the end of a set.
For heavier long-term strength training, traditional rubber hex dumbbells may eventually give you more room to progress. For general home fitness, lighter resistance work and getting started, these are a brilliant option.
