Together We Lift - The Team
👥 Together We Are Stronger 👥 Meet our directors 👥
Together We Lift is an entirely not for profit mental health initiative built to bring the strength community & local mental health charities together through our events, whilst also creating clothing and other merchandise to ensure the message is available year round – that you don’t have to fight your mental health alone.
Within our slogan we state “Together We Rise. Together We Are Stronger. Together We Lift”
In order to ensure we stay true to our own words we have built a leadership board of directors with a mixture of experience and knowledge across multiple strength sports, as well as a deep understanding around the positive impact that lifting weights can have on your mental health.

Adam Rowland – Our Planning Director.
Adam said the following to his appointment as Planning Director for Together We Lift.
“I knew from the very start I wanted to be involved with these events. They create such an incredible atmosphere on the day and raise money for a great cause.
Not many people talk openly about the mental health issues they may be facing, but personally for me these events have helped me massively over the time I’ve been involved. The events pro-actively spread the word that it’s good for people to talk about whatever it is they may be struggling with.
The team deadlift bar is a great visual representation of being stronger together.
I would highly recommend to get involved at an event, there’s no pressure, no judgement and if you’re new to the sport it’s a relaxed way to try something new”
Desi Gillespie – Our Finance Director.
Desi has the following to say on her appointment as Finance Director.
“I am passionate about supporting people to realise how strong they are in all senses of the word.
Alongside my Together We Lift Financial Director role I work as a Physio with all people from elite athletes striving to podiums to people wanting to be strong for their family.
I am also a clinical lead for Mental Health OTs, ensuring when people are receiving holistic mental health support when they attend their GP practice.
I want to make sure all active people can be comfortable to talk about not only their physical but mental health.
I love what Together We Lift represents and want to see it grow and reach as many people to experience the magic of the event days.”

Pete Rogers – Our Communications & Relationships Director.
Pete had the following to say on his appointment as Communications Director.
“I began strength training during lockdown and have focussed on strongman training since late 2021.
I have a love/hate relationship with competing but adore the community and the shared sense of achievement and mutual support the sport brings out in people.
My mental health has been hugely improved by becoming involved in strength sports and I want as many people as possible to feel those same benefits.
I can’t wait to bring Together We Lift to Wales and the South West and help grow long-lasting partnerships and ongoing fundraising in local communities”
Stu Morris – Operations Director.
Stu had the following to say on his appointment as Operations Director.
“I am a Powerlifter for BPU Great Britain, Inters Strongman and Martial Arts background in K1 Kickboxing.
Suffering from my own mental health I saw through a gym that I train in a Together We Lift leaflet. I decided to reach out to Liam about offering my services at events wherever possible and haven’t looked back since.
With so many people using the gym for their own mental state what better way to spread the word of talking and Together We Are Stronger.
I’ve helped at events and look forward to being part of many more moving forward and raising awareness for Mental Health.”

Liam Baker – Our Managing Director.
On the appointment of the directors, Liam had this to say.
“When I founded Together We Lift it was a dream of mine to ensure this mental health movement was supported by the community.
To me these events have been and always will be apart of a far bigger objective.
Raising money is fantastic, and the funds are really well appreciated by the local mental health charities we raise money for.
When it reached a stage in January 2025 that I realised we would be doing 12 events in 2025 across the UK I knew it was time to seek support. Work with others as I know first-hand that Together We Are Stronger.
I am so proud of the Directors we have signed up to support our business on a voluntary agreement, as they all bring such incredible energy and a completely different outlook on how we can progress this movement moving forwards.
I’d like to thank each and every person who has helped us get to this point, and express a special thank you to our directors and the committee for donating so much of their time and energy to the Together We Lift movement”
